New day, new prize! Today on my Christmas bumper giveaway it’s the turn of the bookworms for some pleasure. I have two sets of beautiful hardback books from high-end publishers Prestel worth a collective £110.
I’ve worked with Prestel for a couple of years because I find their books are just so beautiful and thought-provoking. Great Pubs of London, The Monet Cookbook and It’s A London Thing will be one bundle giveaway (£67) and Oskar, Great Works: Encounters with Art and Before I Wake Up will be a second literary lot (£42.50).Read more

You have to admire a shop that makes the switch before anyone else. Secret Messages Interiors in Buckingham was an elegant gunmetal grey for a while. then everyone else cottoned on and it wasn’t fun any more. So now they’re a fetching pistachio green instead.
I like pottering around North Buckinghamshire, where the pace of life is slower, the shops are quirky (I’m guessing the proximity to Milton Keynes helps this creativity along) and people appreciate a good thing coming along when they see it.Read more

Into 2016 and a new Spring season of interiors, and now Secret Messages have ditched the various collectors and are now a serious retro/cool/interiors player, not just in Buckingham but online.Read more
Whoo-hoo! I’m so excited to tell you about this because I know Cornwell Manor – I had a sneaky peaky around it last year (friend of a friend stuff) – and I’m not kidding, it’s one of the loveliest manor houses in the Cotswolds. It’s a total stonker.
Cornwell Manor is close to Chipping Norton in stunning rolling countryside, a 2000 acre estate with a Jacobean manor house (updated with a Georgian facade in the 18th century), a petite Norman church, lakes, wood, streams and gardens designed by Clough Williams-Ellis who created the brilliant Italianate gardens at Portmeirion in North Wales.Read more
I’m on a bit of an odyssey for a mid-century style chair that doesn’t look I’ve picked it out of the Sixties cliché manual and begads, I think I’ve found it!Read more
