There are plenty of beautiful venues in Oxford – less easy to find a place to throw a party that has a cool, urbane vibe. I’ve long been a fan of TVC on the High Street, partly because I love the stylish, quirky, urbane styling and partly because I’m totally in love with the roof terrace – best views of Oxford right there!

TVC goes across four floors, with a First Floor cocktail lounge/bar, a Second Floor bar/dance floor (so ideal for private hire for parties), a Third Floor lounge for hire, and then the Fourth Floor roof terrace, ideal for sharing plates with friends (they do crowd-pleasing tapas etc) for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, or a sneaky post-work cocktail.

I’ve used TVC in the past for a romantic dinner, post theatre cocktails, and took the whole family up in July for lunch after a shopping trip but I’d also definitely use it for a private party – the central location and stylish interiors (particularly that roof terrace) make it ripe for hire. They are able to cater for large groups, sit down 3 course dinners, canapes, feasting, sharing platess, and also offer DJs, mixologists, casino tables, entertainers and decorations so they can take the whole shebang out of your hands.
