Bubbles, lights, literary action! It's the inaugural Muddy Literary Salon
The hottest event in our ‘hood this autumn? kicks off Thame Arts & Literature Festival on Thurs 12 Oct at 8pm – we’re getting the party started, basically.
I will be grilling five – yes, FIVE – top female authors in Thame Town Hall (which the interiors geniuses from Secret Messages will be zhuzhing up especially for the occasion), with the help of my fab associate editor Kerry Potter.
We’re so proud of our line-up. Ready for this? Top fashion/food blogger LibertyLondonGirl, Oxon-based memoirist Clover Stroud, veteran bestselling romantic fiction author Tasmina Perry, renowned ghostwriter and running/swimming writer Alexandra Heminsley and debut thriller author Elizabeth Heathcote. Wowzers!
So what to expect? There will be a champagne bar (of course – cash only btw!), and lots of lively literary chat with our superstar writers, who’ll be talking about their lives and careers. You don’t need to have read any of their books to attend – in fact, you can buy them on the night if you wish (and get them them autographed to boot). And you can participate as little or as much as you like. If you do have a burning question, you can ask the authors and we’d love you to come and say hi to us all afterwards.
It’ll make a fantastic night out with girlfriends (or boyfriends for that matter, we don’t believe in gender stereotypes here). Bring your book group, bring your mum, bring anyone who loves a good read and a glass of fizz. There will be gorgeous goodies to be won on the night – including a brilliant bumper pack of all the attending authors’ tomes.
We’ll see you down the front on 12 Oct. Doors open at 7.30pm – just don’t drink all the bubbles before we get there, OK?
