Lengthen, thicken, and *flutter*
Oh my flippin God. You’re going to love this! tried this brand new YUMI eyelash curling and tinting treatment at Cannelle beauty salon yesterday in Oxford and was blown away by it.
Let’s cut straight to the chase and show you my before and after (well, during but you get my drift).
This treatment is a new level for eyelash curls and tints because rather than just ‘perming’ the lash with loads of ammonia, the YUMI treatment uses less ammonia and also turns the eyelashes upwards from the base, giving them the appearance of having longer and thicker lashes. As a new treatment at Cannelle’s Oxford and Henley salons (am struggling to find it offered anywhere else in the area) it’s currently £40 a pop versus £100 at the ‘Urban Retreat’ in Harrod’s so it’s an absolute steal.
The process takes about an hour and involves lying with your eyes closed on a heated bed (mmmm, nice) , while your beautician gently sticks your eyelashes to some kind of stencil to lift the lash up, which feels strange but not unpleasant, and then puts various potions onto the lashes including, as the last bit, a three minute tint. It doesn’t hurt at all, and you open your eyes to fabulous new lashes that will last you anything from 4 up to 8 weeks. So it’s a much less faffy way to get a kind of eyelash extension look without having to have individual ‘lashes’ stuck on etc.
Frankly it’s genius.
I took this shot this morning (in my rather natty new Muddy Boutique cashmere scarf!) with no make up on at all and some well dodgy hair. But look, you can see it looks like I’ve done the whole mascara and curler thing. I’m converted!!
I’m not sure how long the introductory offer is on for at Cannelle (I’ll check and get back to you on that one) but it’s perfect timing now for Christmas parties or beach holidays. I’ll let you know how long mine last for, and will definitely be doing it again come Spring, so will flutter my come hithers at you again then.
