Did you win the £1200 Cotswold escape?

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Competitions features here.

Sorrryyyyy. I know I said I was going to announce the winner of my Bruern Cottages competition on Friday, but I hadn’t quite bargained on a double swinger ding ding of a hangover that annihilated my weekend. What’s that I hear you say? ‘No sympathy?’ Oh come on now, where’s your compassion?!

Honestly, I was so tired on Friday night that I managed not only to get very drunk very quickly, but also then fell asleep at my friend’s dinner party. Very. Embarrassing. Too scared to ask if I was snoring.

Then on Saturday I spent most of the day horizontal in pathetic recovery mode, before peeling myself off the bed to do a dinner review. A couple of glasses of champers later, I felt perkier, so launched into a bottle of red, then felt rather jolly. Before I knew it, a very large amaretto on ice appeared before me that I was compelled to consume. Sunday was spent horizontal again. Bad Muddy.

Anyway, here I am now, contrite, drinking peppermint tea (a bit), feeling decidedly perkier and very excited about sending a Muddy reader off to the five star Bruern Cottages for a long weekend.

And talking of which, the winner is….. a man in stilettos! Stuart Groves, totter this way, you’re off to the Cotswolds for a long weekend worth £1200 you lucky dabber. Get in touch at [email protected] and we’ll talk champers, spas and four posters (not in too much detail, mind, I’m not that pervy).

Those of you who didn’t win, don’t worry, I have something that will cheer you up big styley next month. Watch this space.
