Win a crate of champers!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Competitions features here.

There’s nothing better than offering a fantastic prize on Muddy, but OMflippinG, it’s not much fun when you have to give them away.

And this one is going to be supertough on me because this time I have to part company with a 12-bottle crate of mind-blowingly good Grand Cru grower champagne!!Honestly I feel a bit weepy already.

How I always dress for my champagne

Me at my local last week

If you don’t know about ‘grower’ champagne, it’s waaaaaaay better than the stuff you get in the shops. The major Champagne houses that you usually find on supermarket shelves are a blend of grapes from multiple vineyards, but Grower Champagnes only source grapes from their own vineyards, producing unique, small quantity champagnes that rarely make it overseas. Bucks-based family business Moore Champagne started importing Grand Cru grower champagnes last year and sales have gone through the roof.  This lot will cost you around £350 retail, but for you my friend, it’s nada!

What you’ll be drinking: 3 bottles Pertois Brut Original; 3 bottles Vauversin Brut Original; 2 bottles of Pertois Cuvee de Reserve; 1 bottle Pertois Cuvee de Prestige; 1 Vauversin Rose du Soir; 1 Baradon Michaudet Millesime 2005 Vintage; 1 Baradon Michaudet Millesime 2005 Vintage.

1. Just click here, enter your email address and also the email address of a friend who you think might genuinely enjoy reading Muddy Stilettos Bucks/Oxon, and who is not currently subscribed to my newsletter.

2. If your friend clicks the resulting email request to join the Muddy newsletter, you’re in the running for the prize (so get on the blower right now and make sure they click!).

Yup, that’s it! It’ll take you about 5 seconds flat.

PS Though it’s entirely possible to put in the email address for your great granny from Adelaide or your old boyfriend in the Highlands, can I pleassssssse ask that you try to suggest people who will genuinely enjoy my little labour of love?  Thank you muchly x

This winner will be announced on 18 December, with delivery guaranteed before Christmas.

Here’s some extra info on the individual champagnes, so you can pretend you know what you’re talking about when you’re pouring!

Pertois Brut Original: a 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs produced from Bernard Pertois’ 4.5ha Grand Cru vineyard in the village of Mesnil sur Oger.  This Champagne offers everything that one would expect from an excellent blanc de blancs Champagne – light, fresh and subtle combined with a real depth and length of flavour.  A genuine Champagne for all occasions.

Vauversin Brut Original: Vauversin’s Brut Original is a real expression of their family’s champagne tradition and know-how.  It will delight any lover of Champagne.  Uniquely Chardonnay and typifying the great champagnes of the Cote de Blancs, Vauversin’s Brut Original is distinguished by its pale gold colour, delicacy, extreme lightness and minerality. Very balanced, fresh and flexible; a champagne for every occasion.

Pertois Cuvee de Reserve: a 100% Chardonnay blanc de blancs Champagne from one of the most famous Champagne villages in the region.  Light and flowery, well balanced with a beautiful aroma as well silky smooth; this is one of our personal favourites.  This Champagne has to be tried to be believed.  You will not be disappointed.

Pertois Cuvee de Prestige: a fantastic vintage 100% Chardonnay Champagne from Bernard Pertois’ Mesnil sur Oger Grand Cru vineyard.  This Champagne is a real joy to drink and is another one of our own personal favourites.  This Champagne takes the smoothness, balance and freshness of the Cuvée de Reserve and takes it to another level, adding greater depth and length to the finish.  Outstanding value for such a remarkable Champagne.

Vauversin Rose du Soir: Bruno Vauversin’s Rose du Soir brings together both Grand Cru Chardonnay from Oger and a small amount of Pinot Noir from the village of Bouzy.  Long and balanced, Rosé Du Soir is a pleasant fruity surprise to the palate with hints of acacia and blackcurrant.

Baradon Michaudet Millesime 2005 Vintage: another 100% Chardonnay Blanc de Blanc Champagne from Baradon-Michaudet’s Grand Cru vineyard in Mesnil sur Oger.  Produced using old vines, this champagne brings the light and elegant freshness of the non-vintage Brut and adds more complexity and length, bringing in balanced and mature hints of brioche and minerality.
