Anyone else love old churches?

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Architecture features here.

Worminghall church. Ain’t it pretty?

I have a terrible habit of wanting to go into every picturesque church I see – I check out the age of the font, wander around the grounds, admire the windows, have a play on the organ if the vicar has been dippy enough to leave it open, peer at the plaques and tombs. I realise that sounds a bit morose and possibly a bit weirdy-beardy (!) but sod it, I find them really interesting.

Ah, the font…. *sigh*

Anyway, I was in Worminghall in mid Bucks the other day, attempting to try out a restaurant as I’ve heard it’s a goody. It was fully booked by 12pm which I guess is the sign that it really is the full lamb chop. But  after realising I couldn’t eat there, I took a short diversion to the church and snapped these pictures.

Just a simple village church, on a beautiful day.
