Name drop time!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Arts & Culture features here.

There I was at the Berlin Film Festival, having a drink with Ben Kingsley (this is true, honest!) when I was introduced to Tim Bevan, co-founder of Working Title Films and exec producer of over 40 films including recently acclaimed Brit thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

I mention this, partly to remind myself that I WAS ONCE SOMEBODY!! (even if that ‘somebody’ was a total name-dropping media hag), but also because  – well, hello! – Tim Bevan is popping up for a Q&A at Oxford’s Ultimate Picture Palace on the 25th November after a screening of Tinker Tailor . This is a bit like Take That turning up to do a gig at your local boozer, then hanging around for a late night chatty poo.

So, if you fancy asking Mr Bevan about why he endorsed giving Gary Oldman those ‘Robin Day’ goggles in Tinker, or why Hugh Grant’s hair in Four Weddings failed to get an Oscar nomination, or any other questions that might get you thrown out of the hall for gross superficiality , now’s your chance.
