What are you doing on Saturday night?

Fancy an evening of books, booze and brilliance? No way - us too! Come join us in Henley this weekend.

Last orders for Muddy Book Club Live at Henley Literary Festival! We’ve got a handful of tickets left (buy ’em here). It’s THIS SATURDAY, 5 Oct, 8.30pm at Phyllis Hall. There’s a pop-up bookshop (hurrah!) and a bar (HURRAH!), and tickets are just £12. Fancy meeting our very special guests and the Muddy squad?

A quick recap on our panel:

Lisa Faulkner: Recently seen in ITV drama A Confession, the actress is also an accomplished cook, winning Celebrity Masterchef in 2010, where she met her fiancé, judge John Torode. Her new book, Meant To Be, is a deeply personal account of her rocky path to motherhood.

Ella Dove: Her debut novel, Five Steps To Happy, is inspired by Ella’s life-changing accident three years ago. At the age of just 25, she became an amputee following a fall while jogging. Currently a journalist for Red and Good Housekeeping and an ambassador for various amputee charities, she’s a total inspiration.

Lotte Jeffs: An award-winning journalist and editor, Lotte’s on a mission to help women navigate the harshness of life with soft power, as explored in her self-help book meets memoir, How To Be A Gentle Woman. A married lesbian mother-of-one, she thinks everyone could benefit from “being more gay”.

Intriguing, eh? And let’s not forget your hostesses with the mostesses (yes, I know it’s not a word) Muddy founder Hero Brown and books editor Kerry Potter.

As well as all the deets on our guests’ brilliant books, we’ll be getting the lowdown on….

  • Whether the devil does actually wear Prada: what it’s really like running a fashion magazine, from ex-ELLE editor Lotte.
  • What the hell you cook for dinner when you’re engaged to Masterchef‘s John Torode, courtesy of Lisa. Not pasta and pesto, we’re guessing.
  • Dating as an amputee (at what point do you tell him?) and the extraordinary things strangers say to you when you have a prosthetic leg, via Ella.
  • How to write a book when your life is ridiculously busy.

Plus, you can ask our guests (and indeed your hosts) ANYTHING! Just keep it clean please. And legal.

See you there?
