MayLee Beauty

My name is Yicong Rowley and I am the owner of MayLee Beauty, but everyone calls me Helen. I chose an English name because my Chinese name was too difficult for many to pronounce! I received my training at a top Hong Kong Beauty School, I am a qualified Beauty Therapist and I also trained in Tui Na massage as used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and now have over 19 years experience in both. I came to the UK in 2005 with my husband and started MayLee Beauty in 2009. Prior to this I ran a  successful beauty salon for 14 years.

I thought my client base would only be from the local community of Thame, Chinnor, Lewknor and Tetsworth but I have gained customers via recommendations from as far a field as London, Oxford, Aylesbury and High Wycombe. I put this down to my holistic approach for developing treatments on an individual basis, something that is almost impossible to do in a large salon. I am sure that with my 19 years experience I will be able to help you feel good and look good too.

“I have had several facials, including some ‘big name’ ones with ‘skin mapping’ etc. These usually entail several applications of various creams and which do indeed leave the skin feeling refreshed and clean – but that is all. However, the MayLee facial is a misnomer, I would describe it as facial massage with skin treatment added in – and it IS entirely different. They leave my skin hydrated to the point that even some wrinkles are diminished (temporarily but it lasts a few hours), and after the amazing (and inclusive) head, neck, arm, hand and shoulder massage, my computer-induced neck and shoulder stiffness is so much better. The steam treatment is unique I think to this one, and the acupressure points and facial massage honestly second to none. Rather than passively lying with various unguents on my face, H is continuously working on the skin and underlying muscles, I know she is highly trained in acupressure and has the strongest fingers anywhere, and thus the more facials I have the better my general skin and muscle condition becomes.
For a small extra she also offers an ultrasonic muscle stimulation which again is of benefit against the ageing process.
I cannot recommend her enough, I am totally addicted to these and swear these ‘facials’ are keeping not only my ageing (and slightly spotty) skin in good condition, but also the massage element is keeping me moving as I have had frozen shoulder and all kinds of neck and arm mobility problems – not any more!

I agree with everything Christina posted. Helen really does work magic with her facials and massages. She has a holistic approach and will alter treatments to accomodate individual needs. I would really recommend her.

It started with gift vouchers and now I have a monthly appointment with Helen for her facial/hot stone massage combo. It is amazing. She has sorted out some back and shoulder problems for me and the facials are my favourite bit – they feel fantastic. If I miss a month I feel like rubbish. Recently, with all this hot weather about, I had a pedicure and the gel nails – dark purple with a little white daisy! – and when one of my little nails got a chip, Helen was good on her word to touch them up, and in fact gave all of the nails another coat while she was at it. Great service, great value, highly recommended.

Based on Mrs Muddy’s recommendation I visited, experienced and am now am a total convert. Helen is completely brilliant and her 1 1/2 hour massage with facial is off the scale fantastic. Great value too.

It’s all great thank you. Noticed my forehead is plumper, I had a line in the between my eyes and that’s a lot fainter.

    Hello Helen
Just a note to thank you for my facial!
It was really lovely to have the massage hands , arms and scalp as well!
No aches or pains after! Skin has been brighter and a little more firm it seems since – so all good!
    Thanks again

I go to Helen regularly for the facial and hot stone massage – an hour of bliss that leaves skin glowing – and cheaper than anywhere else I’ve tried. She really knows what she’s doing.

    Hi
Once again I have had THE most amazing facial and hot stone massage with Helen again. Having been working away in Scotland during the week and looking after a toddler, my skin and back was in need of some attention! Thanks to Helen my lower back is on the way to recovery and after today’s facial, my skin is looking bright and plump again.
I cannot recommend Helen’s treatments enough, however, for the ultimate indulgence, try a hot stone and facial. They are the best!
    Love your work Helen.
    Megan
