The Crown at Woodstock
Muddy says: a modern Scandi reinvention of the traditional inn in pretty Woodstock – a super-stylish addition to the town with great food and 5 luxe bedrooms.
You like your Cotswold towns traditional and pretty, but your design slick and modern? The Crown in Woodstock has your name written all over it. A Grade 2 Listed 18th century boutique pub, restaurant and B&B in the centre of the town, it has charm and quality in spades. I was the first journalist to review the bedrooms (there are 5 ensuites – 4 superking beds, 1 king – Lefroy Brooks showers and smart TV) and absolutely loved the quirkily stylish vibe.
For dinner, the orangerie provides twinkly, atmospheric delight (my preference to eat there rather than the pub) but on an evening the fire in the Sixties-inspired lounge will do the trick nicely too.
