The Kitchen, Farnborough
Muddy says: just over a year old but showing no teething troubles, The Kitchen is a stylish pub with a Savoy and Dorchester trained owner/chef, set in pretty countryside on the Oxon/Warcs borders.
It’s been quite a year for The Kitchen in Farnborough – finalist in the Muddy Stilettos Awards for Best Destination Pub, and inclusion in the Good Food Guide 2017.
Not hard to see why – it’s a beautiful rural spot in Farnborough (location pin: close to the M40 and Banbury!), with an attractive garden and an artfully rustic/stylish interior – so think exposed bricks, muted paintwork and kitsch design accents like fairground lighting.
The Kitchen turned one year old in April 2017, and over the summer was over 30% self-sufficient, using their own fresh fruit, veg and herbs. Owner/chef Anthony, formerly of The Savoy and The Dorchester, runs The Kitchen with his wife Jo, and creates British classic British dishes with a contemporary twist.
A dead cert for a classy lunch stop or a locals’ treat.
