The Manor at Weston-on-the-Green
Muddy says: all the heritage you can handle at this handsome hotel in rural Oxfordshire, in enticing distance of Bicester Village, Rousham Gardens and Blenheim Palace.
This grand hotel near Bicester, originally built for Osney Abbey’s bailiff in the late fifteenth Century, has all the heritage you can handle, with its Tudor fireplaces, wood panelling, double height ceilings and croquet lawns. There are 28 bedrooms and suites altogether, both in the main building and the dog-friendly Coach House (we’re talking Dream Dog Beds, seriously!).
There are 12 acres of grounds, garden and manicured lawns to wander around, and the food here has a good rep – winner of Open Table’s Diners Choice award in 2016 and with a 2AA star rating.
The location sits pretty for Bicester Village, Rousham Gardens, Blenheim Palace and, during the summer months, the wonderfully quirky Jane’s Teas in Kirtlington.
