The Oxford Yurt
Muddy says: Prettily perfect, thoughtfully kitted-out yurts in get-away-from-it-all wild-flower meadows with bottles of bubbles and top-tier catering on tap.
Looking for back-to-nature glamping? The glorious-but-glam Oxford Yurts, set amid acres of wild-flower meadows, are for you. We’re talking bottles of bubbles under starry skies, inventive locally sourced vegetarian catering, solar energy and furniture upcycled from natural materials.
Fear not, though, ‘eco’ doesn’t mean hippy cold showers; each cosily furnished, heated yurt has it own kitchen, wood-burning fire, outdoor lounge/bar and covered dining area. We like the thoughtful extras – marshmallows to toast round the campfire, rails of beautiful vintage fancy-dress for making like you’re at a festival, plus cupboards stacked with pretty china to lift your afternoon tea from Average to Epic.
Opt to self-cater (Tescos can deliver) or order in from the Hub & Hob – a quirky 1970s caravan providing DIY breakfast hampers, toasted sourdough buns packed with egg, halloumi and chilli jam and top-tier Indian-style dinner banquets.
It’s a short drive to the ancient White Horse of Uffington (you can hike to the top) or hit up Oxford for shopping or a punt down the river.
