One wine bar, many moules frites!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Bars features here.

Why have one Christmas work lunch when you can have two?! I admit I’d only popped into The Quince Tree in Stonor  last week for drinkies because I’d had designs on its new wine bar (above) but then I was led astray by some amazing moules frites.

Eating at the wine bar – which only has seating for around 8 – was actually a lovely change to the formality of normal seating. It was very chatty and relaxed, but the service is still there and you have a fun perspective because you’re on the side of the deli and near to the cafe, but in your own special space too. I’d definitely do it again it for wine and nibs.

It’s all looking beautifully festive in there at the mo, with the most enormous tree that was so large I couldn’t get it all in the photo…

And I managed to buy something cool for my dad in the deli too plus a beef and ale pie for Mr Muddy because I knew I’d be too snoozy to cook when I made it home.

All in all, a very happy trip! If you’re in Henley/Stonor/Nettlebed way, it’s worth the detour, I always seem to come away either with a full belly, a light head, some deli bits or gifts – my kind of heaven.
