Try these cocktails!
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Bars features here.
Surely not another sunny day? I’m going to be reaching for my Borat swimsuit soon at this rate. In the meantime (was that a collective sigh of relief I heard there?), I have these divine cocktails to tempt you with, courtesy of current Muddy teacher’s pet The Varsity Club in Oxford and their stupendous roof terrace. Don’t believer me? Check this out!
The Varsity Club has created these cocktails purely for our delectation – because we’re soooo worth it! – and with my professional technical hat firmly in place, you’ll be pleased to know I can personally vouch for their efficacy. Simple to make (even I can’t cock them up) try these at home and enjoy the ride. Just clear the diary for the next day, won’t you?
Orange liqueur (Cointreau recommended)
Freshly squeezed lime juice
The vodka is balanced with lime, shaken with pineapple juice and served over crushed ice in a whole pineapple. A fantastic start to a Summer party.
Apple and Pear Crush
St Germain liqueur
Muddled and shaken over rock ice, served with fresh pear slices. Refreshing and not too sweet.
Sparkling Strawberry Martini
Fresh strawberries (local)
Muddled and shaken over rock ice, strained into a martini glass, topped with cava and garnished with fresh strawberry. A summer twist on the traditional martini, this one also includes Daniel Craig in his swimshorts.
