Check out the LASSCO brekkies!
Is this not a object of beauty and lust?
An avocado, feta, coriander and chilli combination lying akimbo on a bed of sour dough, ready to be devoured by your… oh alright, I’ve taken this analogy as far as I can without a gastronomic X-rating, but I’m guessing you’re licking your lips in moist slo-mo, so you’re getting the idea.
My mid-morning food porn came courtesy of LASSCO Three Pigeons near Milton Common (J7 of the M40, driving experts), the architectural salvage specialists beloved of celebs like Will Young, Kate Bush and Sophie Dahl, that also happen to house a groovy little cafe amongst the curios, quirky one-offs and antiquities.
Recently buoyed by the success of its collaboration with the Native Feasts pop-up suppers (which were fab) and with its on-site pub now longer in operation, LASSCO has reinstated its cafe and is now offering some delectable breakfasts and brunches.
I love the fact that the café space changes as items get sold within the space, and the kind of unapologetic, historical rawness of the place. It feels very urbane and funky. Plus the coffee blows your head off.
It’s not particularly toddler friendly (that’s the understatement) You’ll spend the whole time kneeing your children into their prams and then pranging the wheels as you go around the corners, so it’s not a stop for massive groups of mums. Think of it as a unique place to catch up with friends or business colleagues (I often have work meetings here) – a very cool cafe in one of the most original interiors shops in Oxfordshire. The cafe is open 9am-3pm Monday to Saturday.
