Chateau Marmot returns!

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Pop up restaurants features here.

Oh looky! Bring out the bunting and wriggle into your super-hot going-out frock: Chateau Marmot’s pop up restaurant is returning to Henley next month for two nights on Sept 13 & 14. Whooppee!

I went along to the first Oxfordshire Chateau Marmot last year (see my review here) and it was a lot of fun – and  now a year older and wiser, it’s back, with a 5 course, locally-sourced menu for a great value £48. The chef team is lead by Ramael Scully, one of the executive chef’s for the Ottolenghi group, with head chef Chris Lyon. Wine pairings will be chosen in partnership with ex-Decanter editor Rosalind Cooper and there’ll also be a selection of cocktails, craft beers, soft drinks and the Chateau M Cheese cart.

It does it no harm that the River & Rowing Museum is so darn gorgeous – more glass and wood cladding than even Grand Designs can handle.

If you’ve never been to one of these events before, this might be the perfect one to, um, pop your pop up cherry. Take a deep breath, down a large slug of wine for dutch courage, and get ready to fall in love.
