Pop a doodle doo!
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest EAT OUT features here.
Another day another pop up! Loving this burgeoning local trend – a little element of surprise to pique our curiosity and tantalise our taste buds.
This time it’s Muddy Award winners LASSCO leading the charge. They have quite a few ticketed events in the pipeline but the first one, this Thursday (5 Sept), is a drop-in affair with the quirkerific Secret Pizza Society firing the ovens in their cute Piaggio Ape pizza van.
I’ve spoken to Nick from the Secret Pizza Society who sounds like a real sweety, and is obviously a dab hand at this kind of thing, having already done a similar pop-up for OxFork in Oxford, below, not to mention a gazillion festivals, garden parties and weddings.
So what’s the beef (mozzarella) I hear you cry? Oh come on, that sentence is so bad it’s brilliant!
Basically, you can just rock up to LASSCO between 5pm – 9pm on Thursday, order your pizza from a menu ranging from the stalwarts like Margherita to the more adventurous Admiral (anchovies and lemon- yum). You can buy drinks, both alcoholic and soft, at LASSCO, sit in the gardens or the restaurant area below, wander around the gorgeous antiques and architectural curiosities, or even take the pizzas away for home-scoffing.
Prices are really good value – between £5-7 and made absolutely stonkingly fresh.
I’m definitely going to be dropping in for a cheese/antique combo. What about you?
