Something for the weekend?
Westgate's first ever lifestyle festival takes place this weekend and there are freebies galore. Spot of retail therapy, anyone?
Bricks’n’mortar retailers are really upping their games right now to tempt us off our sofas and into the shops. It’s all about the experience, baby! A case in point is Westgate Oxford’s first lifestyle festival, Westgate In-Spires (geddit?),which starts this Friday, 27 Sep, and continues through the weekend.
I don’t know about you but my Autumn wardrobe is in desperate need of an overhaul – especially now flip flop weather has finally gone – so I’ll be heading down for some retail therapy, but with added treats.
For starters, there are freeeee workout classes at Buzz Gym – yoga on Friday, yoga on Saturday, Zumba on Saturday, as well as a seminar on nutrition that day. All gratis – just reserve your place via the links.
Then in Leiden Square (the main thoroughfare) there will be a stage with catwalk shows featuring new season collections, styling advice, make up demos and panel talks on style, wellness, and sustainability with industry experts.
Up on the roof, there’s one for the foodies – a Cinnamon Kitchen Oxford masterclass in which you’ll learn how to make chaat (Indian street food), which will run Friday and Saturday afternoon (tickets £5).
PLUS Victor’s, scene of many a mad Muddy night out, will be running a gin masterclass. Oh, hello! Educate me, please.
There’s also live music from upcoming singer-songwriter Lots Holloway (below)
… plus local station Jack FM will be creating Oxford’s smallest nightclub – I’ll bring my podium and fluffy bra along, guys.
