The perfect summer sneakers
Bored of boring of white trainers? These silver star motif Ash sneakers, from Gallivant in Thame, are just the ticket.
Who spends their life running around like a headless chicken? (*everyone raises hands*) Well, at least now you can be the world’s most stylish headless chicken with these sleek Ash trainers (£175), spotted in Gallivant boutique in Thame, Oxon, perfect for pavement-pounding and whizzing around town. We reckon the silver leather and coloured star motif elevates them from humble sneaker to bonafide statement shoe, plus they make a welcome change from the ubiquitous plain white trainer. We’d wear them with jeans (obvs) but they’d also look cute with a denim or shirt dress.
Want more? Course you do. It didn’t take much browsing of Gallivant’s rails before these five summer beauties also caught our eye…
1 Daytime sequins? It’s a yes from us. Check out this elegant Patrizia Pepe sequin top, embroidered with sequins and pearls, proof that you don’t have to save your sparkles for eveningwear (£195 in the sale, down from £289).
2 This Luisa Cerano dress would be brilliant for a dressy daytime event like a wedding. Love the slightly ‘off’ red and pink colour combo, plus the flattering, leg-lengthening vertical stripes on the skirt (£269).
3 The pale cropped summer jacket is one of those multi-tasking wardrobe heroes. This embroidered one by Velvet by Graham&Spencer can be thrown on over jeans and a vest to pull your outfit together, or as a cover-up over smart summer dresses (£189).
4. This cream lace blouse from Luisa Serano will pretty up your jeans or khakis, and keep you cool in the heat (£159 in the sale, down from £229)
5. If you spend a lot of your summer skipping around lawns, you’ll know that the only heels that work are wedges (I once wore stilettos to lunch at Le Manoir and immediately sunk into the manicured grass, aargh). These beige Armani Jeans ones will go with everything (£135).
