Over the Rainbow
All things bright and beautiful? When it comes to the new jewellery trend for rainbow-coloured gemstones, you betcha.
There’s something immensely cheering about rainbows, and this gorgeous multi-coloured sapphire and diamond necklace will sure put a smile on your face (albeit with an accompanying hole in your wallet – it’s £1,275 from award-winning local jeweller Biagio. But you’re worth it, right?!).
There’s also a matching ring (£2,385) which I’ve got my beady eye on. Well, a girl can dream (* scurries off to find a pot of gold at the end of one of those rainbows*), or you can go into the store and ask them to source your requirements, and make something bespoke. Go on, outdo Liz Taylor!
Colourful gemstones are having a moment in the sun – quite literally, as they’re a brilliant trend for this time of year when the bright summer light reflects fabulously on the stones. Our wardrobes are a riot of bright shades these days (remember when we all used to wear black constantly just a few years ago?) and we’re now embracing bold, beautiful jewellery in all the colours of the rainbow too. Even the royals, with their trad approach to gems, are doing it – Meghan Markle’s aquamarine ring wedding gift from Harry (one previous lady owner: Princess Diana) is a case in point. Go big or go home, after all. Biagio’s Artistry Collection is also worth a gander if you’re looking for a similar vibrant, oversized digit dazzler.
