Wouldn’t you though?
I’ve always been a shoe and bag girl, mainly because I find buying them so reassuring. My bum cannot strain angrily against the seams of a leather tote, or balloon up a size or two in a peep toe shoe overnight, even if I participate in protracted doughnut scoffing for weeks and weeks on end, like, ahem, I’ve been known to do in times of stress.
Mr Muddy has long taken to rolling his eyes, but I have to say when I put these little leather wedge numbers on for the first time last week he reappraised me, and raised his eyebrows in a much more conciliatory way – a kind of ‘oooooh’ expression rather than ‘uhhhhhh’.
I can resist neither wedges (because I’m rubbish in stilettos), yellow (because it’s my favourite colour) or any kind of animal print (because I’m trashy) so I was destined to snap these up really. You likey? They’re by Brazilian designer Uza, from online fashion boutique Luxe-Layers.com (also worth checking out their fab knitwear). I snaffled them up two weeks ago, and since my wedges joined the Muddy Stilettos ‘Imelda Marcos’ collection, they’ve gone into the Luxe-Layers’ goddam sale, so they’re now £129.50 instead of £185. Bad for me, good for you!
If I was really trendy (read: taller, slimmer, supermodelly, give a damn-ey), I’d give culottes a go with my new shoes, but, er, I’m not, and I won’t. So it’s pencil skirts and shift dresses for me, and a whole lot of accessorising. Have I told you about my new bag purchase? Oh my God, it’s amazing. But I’ll tell you about that another time…
