Amazing value flowers, but hurry!
Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Flowers features here.
I dropped in on Babylon Flowers in Cuxham (just outside Watlington) the other day and flippin Nora, was totally impressed. Set in a gorgeous country spot, where the couple also live with their kids, their business is split into Babylon Plants, below, a wholesale nursery offering a plant supply service for garden designers, landscapers and horticulturalists…
… and Babylon Flowers, below, where owner Juliet grows beds of flowers primarily to sell to florists who then sell them onto the rest of us.
What I didn’t realise is that Juliet will also sell straight to the public if we pull in to see her – and as you would expect with wholesale prices, this makes buying her flowers incredible value. All the flowers grown are English varieties, which I love, and the two buckets of flowers at the top of this post, are £50 for the two – yes, the flippin two! Also, you can order by post from £30. I ordered a special bouquet recently and it was absolutely stunning. So if you were having a party, or just wanted to really give your house a lift of colour before life goes all holly berry and pointsetta on us when the English flower season ends next month, it’s a fantastic idea, don’t you think?
