Last minute Xmas lunch lifesaver – read this!
I don’t think I can be the only harassed woman in the Home Counties who is yet to even consider the question of Christmas lunch. I have not ordered a turkey. I have not chosen my vegetables. No brandy butter has been made, chocolate log ruined, or blinis randomly researched on google. The only thing I’ve actually managed is my Crimbo wine order from The Old Butchers Wine Cellar – I mean, come on, give me some credit.
Anyway, if you’re like me, you’re going to love this little snippet of news. Because word has reached the Muddy shell-like that you can go and buy your entire Christmas foodie stuff from The Quince Tree in Stonor, with potatoes ready in their goose fat, turkey fresh, ready for sticking in the oven, individual beef wellingtons or veggie options, honey and orange-glazed roots, spiced red cabbage, minced pies, dressed poached Loch Duarte salmon… the lot all sorted for you. And because it’s all made fresh from the kitchen to order, you’re not getting that supermarket-plasticcy-sit-for-days-waiting taste.
Best of all, you can collect as late as 2pm on Christmas Eve. Just make sure your order goes in by tomorrow (18 Dec) for the turkeys and all other last food orders by this Sunday (20 Dec).
So I am sitting here, feeling very smug because I’ve just put in my order. Job done! So for those of you who want your Christmas to go off super-slick styley, in a haze of bon homie, with none of the hassle of peeling, prodding and panicking, it’s a delicious no-brainer.
