How’s that self-control going on the double portions? If you’re torturing yourself about your lamentable lack of self-control during dinner (*sigh*, yup, that’s me) , here’s a possible solution to your problem.
The HAPIfork – for that is the name of this joyful object – is coming over from the United States of Bonkerdom, and is designed to vibrate or flash whenever you’re eating too fast. Frighteningly, every time the fork touches your mouth, it records the intervals between each serving and tracks the speed of your ‘delivery’. Woof too quickly, and the
fork will light up and start vibrating, reminding you to take it slower.
The system is so hi-tech, that if you’re, like, totally deranged you can plug the fork into your computer using an app that tracks how many forkfuls you’ve eaten per meal, or even per minute.
Prices for this utterly insane piece of diet kit start at US$59.99 on Amazon, but if you like the sound of the HAPIfork, you’ll be pleased to know that it launches the UK soon. Too late for Christmas, but perhaps in time for your January hair-shirt food purge. Bzzzzzzzzzzz!
