Want to try a great spinning class?

Good news ahoy if you’re looking to get fit this year and are partial to spinning. I came across Cat Booker last year during my Muddy Stilettos Awards and have been keeping my beady eye on her business since. Cat is one of those personal trainers who really made waves in London before moving out into the countryside – she managed the gym floor at a whopper city health club, has taught most types of fitness classes and is now a European Master Trainer for Total Gym & GRAVITY, Pilates Diploma Course Leader, Presenter for Spinning® & Level 3 Coach.

Cat Booker: this woman will give you a buns of steel

These days she’s based in leafy Wendover with a lovely private studio off the high street, and she’s just launched a dedicated spinning space for 10, so it’s perfect for those who like smaller classes and a bit more attention but don’t want the expense of a one-to-one. I was going to try it out a few weeks ago but I did my back in. Luckily a sporty friend of mine has already given it a go and told me it’s really good. Brand new Spinning blade bikes, music blaring, glutes having some kind of electric shock treatment.

The spinning classes are for all standards but with Cat and fellow trainer Neil both keen on and off road cyclists they can take special TLC of bike-related niggles with special pilates and yoga classes for bikers (lycra ones not hairy ones).

For more generalised toning, perting and protecting, there’s an upstairs gym area with room for a maximum of 6, so again it’s an attractive middle ground between personal training and group exercise. Everything from suspension & core Training, kettlebells, pilates and yoga and some scary sounding stuff like Functional Fusion Blast and the Pilates Fitness Chair which sounds vaguely torturous to me but probably gives you a core of steel.

If you’re not in the right area for Cat, it’s worth checking out the Personal Training and Fitness sections of the Muddy Directory – all the trainers on there are fantastic and dedicated to helping you fight the flabaroo.

And as ever let me know if you try any of the classes so I can pass on your experiences. Knowledge is power, peeps, let’s share it!
