It’s taken me a year to find a bowl worthy of my lovely cat Tickle that doesn’t cost bonkers money, but here it is, and from a local company too. Hopscotch is a fab online business based in Stoke Row (close to Henley and Goring), that hand-paints your furry friend’s name onto an elegant flint grey metal bowl in either ivory or charcoal. I can vouch for the sign-writer as she’s a friend of mine, which is how I came across them in the first place!

The bowls come in two sizes, one ideal for cats or smaller dogs and the bigger one for your average St Bernard, and they all have non-slip rubber feet featuring a ‘Don’t forget to feed me’ tag.

Having fed Tickle for the last year on a succession of crappy old saucers, I now feel I’ve finally done right by her. Check out the website, and fight the temptation to buy the personalised pet storage tins as well.
