Guess the price!
Property Flirt is back! Let's snoop around this stunning C16th property with contemporary glass box addition, shall we?
Who doesn’t love a sneaky peek around someone else’s house? Property Flirt is back, people, and boy have I got a corker for you. To remind anyone who doesn’t know my nosey little game, I show you the gaff, tell you the best bits about it, and then you guess the price and the closest to the asking price wins £10,000. Sort of. Nearly. OK, I’m lying about this bit.
So let’s start with a ‘WOWSERS’ at this semi-detached ‘thatched’ cottage in the Midsomer Murder village of Long Crendon, mid Bucks that’s just a leedle bit different – marrying 400 years of history with a big bright glass box of modern makeover and a stunning raised patio area on the first floor that I want SO BADLY.
Quite a beauty, isn’t she?
Featured on Channel 4 and in the national press, the house has, not surprisingly, been nominated for design awards with its glass tube extension to the rear of the property.
Consequently, the kitchen is bright and airy with an striking wooden floor and family dining area. I’m loving the look of the units too – not too ‘country’. In fact, the whole place oozes style and good taste.
The downstairs is flooded with light thanks to a huge skylight and yet none of the beauty of this 400 year old grade II listed house (one of the oldest in the village) has been discarded, as you can see from the interior of the sitting room with its ancient beams, parquet floor and huge fireplace with wood burning stove.
There a 4 / 5 bedrooms, a couple of which are a bit on the snug side (one could be a study) but beautifully appointed plus a bathroom with roll top bath, shower room and utility.
Want to hang out in the garden? Oh be my guest! There’s 200 foot of grass to barefoot it around.
So there you have it. This baby has only just gone on the market and there’s an Open House next weekend (11am – 1pm, Sat 28 April) but you don’t need to be looking for a new house to play my game, so put a fair asking price in your head – got one? – and now…. see how close you got!
