How to serve drinks in style

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Bars features here.

Came across this brilliant photo on a MS follower’s FB page (thanks Tanya) and thought it was such a great idea I decided to put it on the blog.

I can’t usually be bothered to prettify drinks (a G&T lasting about 20 seconds from start to finish in my house) but these flower ice cubes are really beautiful don’t you think? I guess these flowers are edible – please don’t try to make these ice cubes with wisteria or its poisonous sisters and then sue me!

AMAZING idea….might try this with various foliage from the garden…but as you say, not the poison ivy or any other weeds that hubby may have blasted with the killer!!

I guess it depends who’s coming round!

Not around next week for Danesfield – may have to leave it till later in the summer, or until the kids are back to school. Will be good to meet you in style though!

The herb Borage works well, pretty star shaped blue flowers which are edible.

Wow, I’m impressed. Will try it!

You could also make a big bowl with flowers in it, freezer space allowing, to serve sorbets / ice creams at a alfresco lunch
