Reader Treats Just For You!

Oh sweet heaven – the perfect kids party

Hmmm, you’ve reached an older feature - let’s get you up to date! Read our latest Kids Activities features here.

Let’s be honest, it’s not hard to get excited about a sweet shop, any sweetshop, but this new place in Thame is heaven on a lollipop.

It’s called My Sweet Art Creations and is nuzzling in Swan Walk (just of the main road with the Aga Shop if you’re looking for landmarks). I picked up my daughter from a friend’s birthday the other night and she’d had such a brilliant time I thought I’d better mention it, as it’s quite hard to find really fun afforable stuff for kids to do. Yes, she ate shedloads of sugar (bags of which she also brought home) but also, any ye perfect sugar-free mothers reading this and tut-tutting at my tardiness, she was, like, being creative a lot of the party. *Um, sort of*.  Making a face out of sweets, making a sweet tree, and, then, scoffing her artwork. All very valuable character-building stuff.

Apparently the shop also does engagements, babyshowers and anniversaries – I guess they can move the cute wheelbarrow trolley to wherever you are – but for me it’s most valuable as a kids venue –  sweet tree parties start at £13.95 per head which is pretty good value, and of course the kids take their ‘sweety’ party bag with them and it’s 10% off party bookings until the end of Sept.  Your only additional cost is £1.49 for industrial strength toothpaste and a padded room to calm them down in afterwards.

6 Swan Walk, upper high street, Thame. Tel: 01844 69010.
