215 Kitchen & Drinks
The Oxford Kitchen, the city's only Michelin starred restaurant has had a makeover. Let me introduce you to 215 Kitchen & Drinks - you're new local neighbourhood restaurant with a casual vibe and excellent foodie offering. Table for two, please!
Oxford’s only Michelin-starred restaurant has undergone a rebrand during lockdown and I could not be more excited.
Formerly The Oxford Kitchen, the revamped 215 Kitchen & Drinks – referencing its locale on the Banbury Road in Summertown – will offer a more relaxed vibe, ideal for family dinners, date night or drinks with friends. There’s also a space for private dining in the upstairs window room.
Michelin star-nabbing executive chef Paul Welburn (CV: Head Chef at W1, BBC’s The Great British Menu) is still at the reins, with the restaurant serving lunch and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, plus Sunday lunch. The menu will change weekly (2 courses £35 / 3 courses £40, 6pm – 9.30pm), but you can expect a mix of sharing plates and British classics with a modern flair.
If you can’t wait until the restaurant opens to sample the goods, you can order a fine-dining takeaway to eat at home (read my review of Paul’s exquisite cooking here). The grand opening date is pending, but you can be sure I’ll be first through the door.
