Cinnamon Kitchen, Oxford
Muddy says: One of the new Westgate centre’s excellent restaurants, this sleek Oxford Indian brasserie is all about inventive, upscale cooking. Make mine the 7 course tasting menu.
Indian food gets a super-chic makeover with this new Oxford outpost of the popular East London restaurant. Cinnamon Kitchen has nobbled a prime spot in the swanky new Westgate Centre, with its rooftop location, dreamy views and a terrace that’ll come into its own in the summer.
Banishing the ‘6 pints of lager and an 11pm vindaloo’ cliché, it offers all-day dining from brunch through to a 7 course tasting menu dinner, complete with wine pairing. The food is as upmarket as the sleek, modern décor – Kerala-spiced lobster soup flamed with Cognac, madame? – but if you’re mid-shopping spree and need a quick, hearty lunch, they do a bargainous £12 deal too.
