Muddy says: Durban Spice is a bespoke catering serving and supper club serving authentic South African food in owner Shabir Ally’s home in Wheatley, Oxfordshire.
On the prowl for a hot new supper club? Run by Durban native Shabir Ally (a.k.a. ‘Shabs’ as he’s known to his friends), Durban Spice offers dining experiences in Shabs’ home in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. A keen foodie, Shabs has over 22 years experience in hospitality and catering including operations at both Blenheim Palace and The Ashmolean Museum.
Durban Spice supper clubs serve fragrant and authentic South African food that remind Shabs of his childhood- curries, samosas, roti, chutneys, pickles- a rich blend of Indian, Dutch, Malay and African flavours.
Each date has a five course seasonal menu that’s revealed on the night, all made with top quality local produce with tea/coffee and homemade petit fours included in the suggested price of £37. It’s BYOB, with no corkage, so you can take along your own tipple. Upcoming supper clubs for 2019 are (*deep breath*)
