Griffiths Brothers Gin
Fancy a new tipple to add to your home bar? This family-run Bucks distillery creates lip-smacking cold-distilled gins that are perfect for sipping or cocktail-making (not to mention, the bottles are so Insta-worthy you'll want to keep them front and centre on your shelves).
A girl can never have too much gin, that’s our motto – and indie distillery Griffiths Brothers in the heart of the Chiltern Hills is only too happy to oblige.
Started as a challenge between two brothers in the tiny Bucks village of Penn Street, the county’s first microdistillery now operates out of a 1930s aircraft factory, home to the company’s two rotary evaporators Roberta and Aretha. The result? Modern, cold-pressed gins with mega mellow flavours.
The core collection is made up of three delicious gins: the award-winning Original Gin has classic notes of citrus, orange blossom and elderflower, and is best served with orange peel and a fresh bay leaf. After something stronger? Griffiths Brothers No. 2 is an export strength gin that makes a great martini – flavours include juniper and grapefruit with herbaceous and vanilla notes. Finally, for a taste of the Caribbean, pick up a bottle of Griffiths Brothers No. 3, which is made with fresh cut lemon and lime, pineapple and nutmeg from St Lucia. Serve with raspberries and a mediterranean tonic for a getaway in a glass.
If just reading that’s made you thirsty, you can visit the distillery for a tour and taster drinks – tickets are available every Thursday, or you can email directly to book private tours. Prop up the Mosquito bar and sample away.
