Indigo Rye
Muddy says: A winning formula at this light and airy salon in Wallingford – a modern vibe and great haircuts but without the pretension.
Indigo Rye is a hairdressers nestled amongst Wallingford’s traditional arcades and small indies – light and airy with big windows looking out onto the brick buildings opposite radiates a slick and pro feel. The sister salon to the original Indigo Rye in Caversham, Berks, the Wallingford salon has been around for 10 years or so but still retains a modern vibe.
The three owners, Karen Kennedy (a judge at the Grand final of Xposure 2016), Mike Martin and Judith Hancock have clearly hit on a winning formula, but thankfully it’s all done without fuss or pretension.
The prices at Indigo Rye are very good value for a pro regional salon – cuts start at £37, and even with the salon director wielding the scissors it’s only £55. Full head highlights go from £70 for a graduate to £102 for the director, and semi-permanent colour is from £41-51. Definitely one to put on your ‘must-try’ list if you’re having a ‘new me, new salon’ moment.
