The Kenton, Henley-on-Thames
One of the oldest working theatres in the UK and winner of the Muddy Awards for Best Theatre/Arts venue in 2023, this 240-seat theatre in the heart of Henley offers everything from theatre and comedy to talks and screenings.

One of the oldest working theatres in the UK and winner of the Muddy Awards for Best Theatre/Arts venue in 2023, The Kenton theatre has been home to a rolling roster of superb shows and outstanding performances since 1805. The 240-seat theatre not only hosts annual performances from the likes of Henley Drama Festival, Henley Literary Festival and Henley Children’s Theatre (among many others), it’s also attracted big names including Michael McIntyre and Alan Carr.
Based in the centre of Henley-on-Thames close to the river, The Kenton is a registered charity, community hub and a place for culture vultures to see everything from contemporary dance, theatre and comedy to music, talks, screenings and (of course) panto. This year’s production comes courtesy of the award-winning Immersion Theatre company – nab a ticket here for Jack and the Beanstalk (Sat 9- Sun 31 Dec).
The Kenton theatre is also available to hire for parties, rehearsals, theatre productions, conferences and screenings with its own bar, café, and generous backstage space.
