Nomada

Muddy says: Keep ’em peeled for this roaming, under-the-radar, super-cool Cotswolds and Oxon supper club, featuring innovative, tasty menus from an Ottolenghi alumnus. Er, YUM!

Nomada is a roving supper-club that slinks stylishly around the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, dispensing delicious food to those in the know. And now that includes you! It’s run by Ruben Leon-Costa, a Cuban with quite the CV. He’s previously worked at London hotspot Ottolenghi in Islington, as well as clocking up a stint as chef/mentor at Watergate Bay in Cornwall, the Jamie Oliver Fifteen Foundation restaurant. He also cooks up fancy dinners for chi-chi London Fashion Week events.

Now, happily for us, he’s rocked up in our ‘hood and with pop-ups including Japanese, Korean and Thai menus – and let’s face it, while there’s a lot of decent gastro pubs around these parts, sometimes more exciting, exotic fare is hard to find.

Tastebuds tantalised? Catch Nomada THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, 24 March, at The Rookery in Oxon market town, Faringdon. The three-course menu is Middle Eastern-inspired vegetarian (sample dish: baba ganoush topped with labneh and pomegranate seeds, served with home-made flatbreads and tabbouleh).  It’s £35 per person (drinks are extra). See here for more details, and keep your eye on the Nomada website for future dates.
