Want to ski but can’t jet off to the mountains? How about heading for Snozone in Xscape, Milton Keynes? They’ve been teaching people to ski and snowboard on real snow for over 20 years and offer something for all abilities, with expert instructors in private or group lessons.

What I hadn’t realised was that they also offer children’s parties (with sledging as well as ski-ing), any kind of celebration from Christmas parties to hen and stag dos, school ski lessons and even team building corporate events, with a meeting room on site.

They can also bring snow to you – yes, really! –  to create a sledging run, snow ‘beach’ or winter wonderland at your home, school or work at any time of year. How cool is that?

As well as the fun stuff, Snozone also specialises in the assessment of practical components for GCSE and A Level PE and BTEC qualifications in Sport and Business Studies. The Alpine Kitchen on site serves hot and cold meals and drinks and all the ski equipment is free with your ticket, though you’ll need to bring your ski jackets, salopettes and gloves.
