The Chequers, Marlow
Muddy says: Meat eaters unite! The Chequers pub on Marlow’s high street has been newly reinvented as a modern steak specialist. Just add wine and friends.
Situated on Marlow’s Georgian-fronted High Street, The Chequers is a 16th century inn with meat as a focal point- a show-stopping Butcher’s Block counter stands in the restaurant as well as a snug aleshouse, The Churchill Tap, that is separate to the main pub and sells Brakspears’ beers, plus other artisan brewery beers and bottled world beers. Basically if you like the amber nectar, you’re in luck here.
Steaks, burgers and traditional pie dishes are your modern British choices here – family and relaxed group crowd-pleasers – so it’s ideal for a stop off after spending the day in Marlow’s Higginson Park or for recovering after a shopathon along Marlow High Street.
