One of the most stylish bars in Oxford with its Philippe Starcke sofas, wood-panelled walls and retro downlighters, The House is perhaps also one of the most hidden – tucked away in the  higgledy piggledy Blue Boar Street, close to Christchurch College.

There’s a smallish cocktail bar on the ground floor and a terrace and Games Room upstairs, available for hire for up to 70 guests – I’d definitely book that space for a private party.

Happy Hour runs from 5 – 9pm, Sun to Thur; 5pm – 8pm Fri and Sat, and if you can’t make it to The House, the House can come to you – a you can hire a mobile cocktail bar for parties from 50 to 500.
