The Lion at Wendlebury, Bicester
Muddy says: Ideally located close to the M40 and Bicester Village, this handsome stone pub with rooms has been recently refurbished by Oxfordshire super-brewers Brakspear.
A beautifully refurbished pub, you can find The Lion at Wendlebury 1 mile from the M40 Junction 9 and 2 miles from Bicester Village, so it’s ideal as a central meeting point if you’re all traveling from different locations.
There’s a traditional pubby part at the front with flagstone floors, exposed brick work and beams, and then a more modern restaurant towards the rear with double height ceilings and chandeliers, backing onto the outside area.
The Lion at Wendlebury offers pub classics but also caters well to vegans, vegetarians and those who are gluten-free. It’s child-friendly too with a special ‘Cubs’ menu, though please note there is only a small patio garden. The pub also has 13 boutique bedrooms.
We’d use this pub for a well priced, convenient meeting up point in pretty surroundings.
