The Potters Arms, Amersham

The Potters Arms may look like a traditional local, but it boasts excellent comedy nights with an outstanding rota of talent alongside its cozy interiors and Thai and British dishes.

Imagine combining a top London comedy club with a rural pub and you have The Potter’s Arms. A traditional village local in rural Bucks, just outside Amersham, who not only champion local produce but also emerging talent on the comedy scene too.

The pub decor is homely and unpretentious, the food is good with plenty of variety ranging from your traditional, hearty, soul pub food to weekly Thai nights on Fridays and Saturdays. You can even order via their very own app either from the comfort of your home (or your beer garden table) to eat in or takeaway. All produce including the drinks are sourced locally where possible with local ales available from Marlow’s very own Rebellion Brewery.

There is a real community vibe here, not just because of the many different and regular pub nights held at The Potters Arms (darts tournaments, pub quizzes and a brand new supper club) they’ve also recently opened a village shop within the pub where essential food items can be purchased along with some rather delicious homemade goodies.

It’s still the comedy that’ll blow your head off however. The Potters Arms have

established themselves on the national comedy circuit thanks to hosting both new and veterans on the stand-up scene for the last 8 years. Their comedy nights, on the last Thursday of every month, are not to be missed! Tickets include dinner so you can really make a night of it.

If you want to see the comedy and have a drink, The Potters Arms has four en-suite bed & breakfast rooms with WiFi for all guests in the rooms and – most importantly in my book – tea & coffee facilities in the room.

Eat, drink laugh, sleep (repeat) is the mantra here and it’s perfectly apt.
