Looking to add a little luxury to your summer wardrobe? Make your next sartorial buy one of these stunning hand-woven scarves, kaftans or wraps from this environmentally sound brand.
Many of us are making a conscious effort to buy into quality rather than quantity and to choose investment pieces over fast fashion. Personally, I’d pick spending a little more a timeless item that’ll last over a cheap high street buy any day, which is why I’m coveting these gorgeous scarves from local brand Thread Tales.
Thread Tales was founded by Katherine Maunder in 2017 after her mother discovered a fabric created from the stems of Lotus flowers whilst travelling and working as a midwife in the Myanmar jungle (as you do). The material is exceptionally rare and the brand is one of only a few to use it in it’s scarves, wraps and kaftans. You’ll also find Cashmere, Merino, Cotton, Linen, Camel and Yak wool in the unique designs on the site.
With Thread Tales you can tick off tradition, luxury and responsibility – the scarves are hand woven using age-old techniques by artisans in Nepal and Myanmar, plus the brand uses sustainable yarn and supports communities abroad where the scarves are manufactured.
The pictures here speak for themselves – the designs are stunning, and would make a lovely birthday present, beach wrap or gift to self.
