Wendover Woods
Wendover Woods is an unspoilt stretch on the Chiltern Hills with miles of walking, running and cycling trails. It boasts ancient monuments, views over Aylesbury Vale, a Go Ape, and a café serving hot and cold food.
A guaranteed great family day out, Wendover Woods has a tonne of stuff to offer. It isn’t just a beautiful stretch of Chilterns woodland with lots of walking trails, it’s also got plentiful picnic areas with BBQ plots, a cracking café on-site, and the exhilarating heights of Go Ape treetop trails. And — believe it or not — it was even the birthplace of the mountain bike. Now, there’s something to stick on a postcard.
If you’ve got little ones with you, why not try a spot of Gruffalo orienteering? Those with a few extra years under their belt might enjoy some low-impact Nordic Walking, while the fighting fit can tackle the fitness trail assault course. There are four walking trails, three running routes, a cycling course, and both horses and dogs are welcome. Frankly, you’d be better off asking what you can’t do there.
