Yew Tree, Frieth

Muddy says: A relaxed stylish gastropub in the beautiful Chilterns with a seasonal enticing menu and a real community feel.

Closed for four years the Yew Tree reopened with a fanfare and sighs of relief from thirsty locals in the pretty Bucks hamlet of Frieth, near Henley.

Expect steaks, burgers and chicken cooked over charcoal and wood on a Parrilla (Argentine) grill, as well as plenty of seafood and vegetarian options, a kids’ menu and traditional pub puds like sticky toffee pudding and apple crumble. The relaxed bar has a roaring fire in the winter and the garden comes into its own in the summer with dogs welcome. There’s an extensive wine list and local ales, with plenty of Chiltern countryside to enjoy before or after you indulge.
