Muddy says: Ready to get your zen on? Shelley, owner of Yoga Synergy offers chilled out yoga classes and one-to-one sessions in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire – and there’s a residential weekend in Bucks on the horizon!
Meet Shelley, owner of Bucks-based business Yoga Synergy. Shelley has had an unusual path to yoga teaching, learning about the practice from a book on a trip to Africa when she was 19, before living it up in London (she’s a self confessed raver!), then becoming a fitness instructor and rediscovering her passion for yoga. For Shelley, yoga is all about achieving stability and balance, and also about being accessible.
There are plenty of women out there for whom yoga feels like another competitive sport they don’t want to fail at – have I got the right kit? Am I willowy enough? OMG I can’t even touch my toes!
But actually Shelley is the antidote to this kind of fear, offering lighthearted weekly classes with chillout beats in two locations in Aylesbury – George Farm in Little Kimble and DW Gym in Aylesbury Shopping Park. She caters for all abilities, whether you’re an experienced yogi or just getting to grips with a wobbly downward dog. One-to-one sessions are also on offer. Check out the full class list here.
Shelley also hosts one 0ff workshops and weekender retreats in Bucks and London, so dig out your leggings, dust off your yoga mat and pour yourself a green juice (okay, maybe not that last one) as the next one is coming up pronto.
Shelley’s next Yoga Weekend (11 – 13 Oct) will be held in the pretty Chilterns at De Vere Latimer Estate, nr Chesham. A £275 ticket includes two nights in a superior twin room, dinner on Fri and Sat, plus group meditation, yoga workshop and use of the hotel’s leisure facilities. We’re going, are you?!
