Into orbit

Wow, Little Italy Espresso Bar. I mean, really WOW.

My local coffee shop, which happens to be one of the coolest little joints in Bucks, always tries to do things a bit differently. Their Scandi-look espresso bar in Haddenham still hasn’t been bettered in the local area; their own-brand magazine was a first for an indie cafe company. And now, to celebrate 10 years of Little Italy, they’ve only gone and launched a coffee cup into space!

You may be asking ‘why?!’ but I think if you met the charismatic and slightly eccentric owner Simon (he blames it a childhood in Ipswich and who am I to argue) you’d understand.

Of course, there’s not much point in launching the first coffee cup ever into space if you don’t record it for prosperity, so here is a video of it floating up into space with the help of a massive balloon. It’s a very cool video, with original music and a great moment when the balloon pops and you see the coffee cup floating in space.

What next, Little Italy – a panini on Pluto?

The White Swan in Whitchurch (Aylesbury) sent a mini pint and a lego man up to space last year! It was a great event
