Muddy is expanding (and I don’t just mean my waistline)
January and February are always tough months – the cold, the fun deprivation, the need to tough out horrific new health regimes – but ever the sucker for punishment, for this year I decided it would be a good idea to add to the pain by launching eight new Muddy Stilettos into the world. You know, as you do.
Now I’m blinking into the daylight with a kind of dazed amazement because, er, *rub eyes* I’ve actually somehow managed it!
So I am delighted to report that there are now brilliant spinky-spanky new Muddy Stilettos in Kent, Sussex, Norfolk, Cornwall, Somerset, Berkshire, Surrey and Northants. As with Hertfordshire which launched late in 2014, each of the new counties has its own editor, primarily because I’m too old to go into a phone box, spin around, do up my Wonder Woman corset and review the entire country before burning the fish fingers at tea time. I know that sounds a bit defeatist but there you go.
Vitally, all the county editors are brilliant national journalists/writers who really understand what Muddy is about, and they’ll be a fantastic insider resource if you’re using the wire cutters to escape Bucks/ Oxon and want a steer on the cool stuff to do in other counties. You can sign up to relevant blogs on the various homepages, next to the photos of the editors. They also have
So… want to meet the new girls?! Here they are with me on the mezzanine of the lovely Quince Tree in Stonor, all seeing each other for the first time. I seem to have been quite pro-brunette in my selection process I notice (is it illegal to hire on the grounds of hair colour?). The one blonde rogue is Sue who runs Somerset, rocking the kind of cool haircut I still dream of pulling off but probably never will.
All the separate regional blogs can be acccessed either through the dropdown menu of the national Muddy homepage (the muddystilettos.co.uk address), or if you’re on any of the regional blogs, including mine, you can just go to the top of the navigation bar and choose the ‘Choose County’ tab on the far right (see below).
Since they only launched a matter of days ago, it won’t take you long to read them all so have a gander if you’re curious, or if you know you’re going to be zipping off to that county in the near future.
I still remain your loyal correspondent for Bucks & Oxon. Talking of which, I have quite the competition to launch us into March. Watch this space, you’ll love it!
