The Prohibition Party at The Crazy Bear, Stadhampton

Crazy Bear burlesque

The Crazy Bear knows how to throw a good party and, this being their 21st New Year bash, they’ve had plenty of practice. This time round the theme’s ‘Prohibition’ and the dress code is Flappers and Gangsters. The evening includes a champagne reception, an English and Thai banquet, burlesque and singing showgirls, magic, live music, a DJ and dancing ’til 2 am. Sounds fun.

Tickets £95 each. The Crazy Bear, Bear Lane, Stadhampton, OX44  7UR. Tel: 01865 890714.

The Mayor of London’s NYE 2014 Fireworks

Boris’s firework display promises to be as spectacular as ever, and although it isn’t free this year, if you do opt for a ticket (at only a tenner each),  you’ll have the best possible view of the fireworks from a reserved area.

A Night in with Jools

Avoid crowds and taxi queues, stock up on the bubbly and plump up the cushions in front of the telly ready for a night in on the sofa celebrating Jools Holland’s Annual Hootenany. Kicking off at 11.20pm, this year marks the 22nd edition of this show. Something for everyone in the celebrity line up which includes Ed Sheeran, Palmona Faith and Ellie Goulding. The programme finishes at 1.40am,  on the slim chance that you manage to stay awake that long.
